1994 Island Packet 35

location icon Panama City, Florida
Year 1994
Length 35 ft

$89,900

Beautiful and ready to sail away, this Island Packet 35 is very clean, new marine air conditioner is onboard and ready to install, thru-hull is in place and the tough part is complete.  Cushions and interior are in near perfect condition.  Standing and running rigging are in great shape.  Nice cockpit coverage with the very solid bimini and dodger.  Exterior is in very good condition, bright work could use a little attention.  Come see this amazing vessel and sail it away.

Here are some things that differentiate this boat from other IP-35s:

This boat has spent most of it’s life north of the Chesapeake bay.  The current owner shipped it to Florida in January 2021.  It was kept covered on the hard during winters and has relatively low engine hours for it’s age.

If you plan to sail and anchor in the Northern Gulf of Mexico during the winter, you will appreciate the Espar diesel cabin heater mounted in the cockpit locker.  This blows warm dry air and uses very little fuel.  It makes for a cozy cabin away from the dock electricity.

Another great upgrade on this boat is the conversion of the under-seat steering shaft to a pedestal mounted steering wheel.  This eliminates the annoyance of having to step over a steering wheel shaft.  It also allows for a larger diameter wheel that is mounted higher.  This makes it more comfortable steering while sitting down or standing up.  This particular boat has a very nice feel to the steering with low friction.  The wheel is folding which makes it easier to get around in the cockpit when not under way.

This boat has the factory installed optional rubbing strakes mounted on the hull topsides.  This increases the protection of the hull from docks and pilings.  It also enhances the appearance of the boat. Boats without this option just have a stick-on cove stripe for appearance.

Another excellent upgrade is the 4-blade feathering Max Prop.  This propeller provides much better thrust in reverse for maneuvering in close quarters.  It is fast in forward and it eliminates a lot of drag while sailing.  The original 3-blade fixed prop is stored under the starboard settee.

This boat is hull #171 out of 178 produced.  These later models were fitted with a Yanmar engine that has about 5 horsepower more than the earlier models.  This equates to faster motoring speeds.

You will appreciate that there is a fully enclosed radar reflector mounted on the mast.  No more fooling around with those sharp edged reflectors that go up on the flag halyard.  This reflector is always up and will not flop around in a storm or damage the sails.

Another upgrade for the speed oriented sailor is a spinnaker by North Sails.  A telescoping pole is mounted on the mast.  Pad eyes and stainless cleats have been mounted on the aft cap rails for turning the sheets.
